The Montessori School – Learning for Life, has been intricately prepared to meet the needs of the child from birth to 6 years. The basic foundation of the child’s personality is formed during this period and the space safeguards the fragile inner work during this period of development. It offers experiences to nurture and support the ever-changing needs enabling the child to become and belong to his time and place. Further, Kriyasthala- a learning habitat stands as a loving prepared space to meet the needs of the second plane children (6-12 years) and the third plane children (12-18 years). It is a place where creation is always on, a place of happening. As they transition into society and being independent individuals in their communities, these high-fidelity Montessori programmes offer them with the exploration and practice they require to grow increasingly close to their potential .

The Montessori School and Kriyasthala endeavors to build a harmonious, inclusive community by being sensitive to the different learning styles. Collaboration with the parent community is an integral part of our work culture and this has contributed in helping us nurture the spirit of learning for life. We believe that our skill sets and team effort will contribute towards building an Authentic Montessori program in the sub continent.

The team at The Montessori School and Kriyasthala is qualified to serve the needs of children from birth to 18 years of age. Each of the Guides has a certification from AMI(Association Montessori Internationale), a global organisation established by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her work. Every team member periodically undertakes professional development to stay current with recent studies and research on education.

Story of how TMS and Kriyasthala started

After the 0-3 programme in the United States our founder, Kavya Chandrasekhar initiated parent and infant class in the city in the year 2009. The parents attending these sessions were very keen on continuing their children’s education in the Montessori way. This saw the birth of the first Youngest Children’s Community (15 months to 3 years) in the city. Thereafter in the year 2013 the Children’s House (3 years to 6 years) was set up to meet the needs of the children graduating from the Youngest Children’s Community. In 2017 the team set up Kriyasthala- a learning habitat to work with children between the age group of 6 to 12 years. In 2023, the Kriyasthala Centre for Work and Study was set up to meet the needs of the adolescents
