about us
The Montessori School and Kriyasthala endeavors to build a harmonious, inclusive community by being sensitive to the different learning styles. Collaboration with the parent community is an integral part of our work culture and this has contributed in helping us nurture the spirit of learning for life. We believe that our skill sets and team effort will contribute towards building an authentic Montessori program in the subcontinent.
The team at The Montessori School and Kriyasthala is qualified to serve the needs of children from birth to 18 years of age. Each of the Guides has a certification from AMI (Association Montessori Internationale), a global organisation established by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her work. Every team member periodically undertakes professional development to stay current with recent studies and research on education.

After completing the Montessori 0–3 programme in the United States, our founder Kavya Chandrasekhar began Parent–Infant Classes in the city. The strong interest and involvement of families led to the establishment of the city's first Youngest Children’s Community (YCC: 15 months to 3 years).

To support the continued Montessori journey of children graduating from the YCC (15 months to 3 years), the Children’s House (3 to 6 years) was established.

With a vision to accompany children into the next stage of development, the team set up Kriyasthala: a learning habitat, for children aged 6 to 12 years.

Recognizing the needs of adolescents, the Kriyasthala Centre for Work and Study was launched — a space dedicated to supporting the 12 to 18 age group through meaningful work, study, and community engagement.
