The classroom is open, with natural light, and is furnished with beautiful child-sized furniture and objects so that infants feel safe to explore, practice to build strength, express themselves and understand the world around them. The Nest carefully nurtures the infant’s developing intelligence by offering increasingly more complex objects to explore and manipulate in intriguing ways.

The guides follow the infant’s natural schedule
The guides follow the infant’s natural schedule which encourages them to trust their body, and also helps them to develop a healthy relationship with sleep, eating, and toileting.
INDEPENDENCE
The team at Nest guides each infant in order to help them meet their basic needs in the first year of life.
The team at Nest guides each infant in order to help them meet their basic needs in the first year of life, namely the need for movement, communication, weaning process and the ability to support the developing Independence –“the ability to do for oneself”.
BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Infants use their hands to fuel the development of their brains and nervous systems.
Infants use their hands to fuel the development of their brains and nervous systems. Keeping this in mind Infants are supported to do things by themselves, striking the balance between making your little one feel safe and identifying the right moment to encourage them to try something new.

The Guides at The Montessori School’s Nest will reach out to you to keep you informed of your child's development and invite you to participate in class from time to time. You will also receive daily reports about your child’s eating, sleeping, toileting routines, and the learning activities they engage in.
